You can get answers to these and other questions on living green at the Second Annual Green Households Resource Fair on Saturday, April 18, from 11:00am to 1:00pm!
Please note that both the Winter Farmers Market and Green Households Fair have a new location: outdoors at the Morgantown Market Place at 400 Spruce Street, due to a scheduling conflict at its usual indoor location.
Cosponsored by the Morgantown Municipal Green Team and Morgantown Farmers’ Market, the fair has to date confirmed resource people on organic gardening, composting, tree planting and care, rooftop solar power, homemade cleaners and personal products, recycling, beekeeping, chicken raising, and bike repair.
Come and explore a variety of ways to live healthily, safely, and sustainably, while picking up some fine locally grown produce at this last Winter Farmers Market!
You can learn how to make your own cleaning and personal care products from common and inexpensive nontoxic ingredients, many you already own. You can also talk with folks about less common activities such as worm bin composting, chicken raising, and beekeeping.
For those interested in exploring residential rooftop solar power, a representative of the recently launched Morgantown Solar Coop will be on hand with information and answer your questions on how figure out if solar is for you!
Teachers and students from North Elementary and Suncrest Primary Schools will demonstrate how kids can be green, and the Morgantown Library will have its own table to demonstrate its extensive print and online resources on living sustainably. Each of the fair’s tables will also provide a handout of related library resources.
The Morgantown Municipal Green Team thanks the Morgantown Farmers’ Market and Morgantown Public Library for their support of this event. The Green Team is a group of citizens that advises the City of Morgantown on matters relating to sustainability in public policy, planning, education, departmental management, development, and evaluation of environmental and energy-related issues.
